Room Mode Calculator
Use this tool to predict room response. Based on the dimensions of your room, certain frequencies are likely
to sound louder as sound waves collide with each other after bouncing off of reflective surfaces; some sounds can be nullified for the same reasons. This tool is most useful before a room is constructed, to predict both the frequencies
at which troublesome modes might occur but also the distribution of modes in your room below a certain frequency.
If you have little choice as to the dimensions of your room, all is not lost. Evenly distributed modes are only the beginning of a good sounding room. Acoustic treatment devices and software of all types
are readily available to imporove the characteristics of your room in the frequency- and time- domains.
