Cipherin' - A PWK Story

Cipherin' - A Paul Klipsch Story

Before Trey Cannon worked for Klipsch as an engineer on excellent designs such as the Klipsch THX system, he actually worked at a Radio Shack in Hope, Arkansas.  One of his responsibilities was the in-home installation for new Dish Network customers.  One day Trey was sent out to Paul and Valerie's house in Hope to install a dish.

As Trey hooked up electronics and began the wiring process, he noticed that Paul had a small notebook in hand and appeared to be doing calculations, cipherin'.  After scratching out some numbers he asked Trey how much longer it would take him to complete the installation.

Trey: "About five minutes"

Paul: "Can you do it in three?  By this calculation my stock is going to come back around on Bloomberg by then"

Paul's mind was always working.

This story was told by Trey Cannon at the 2006 Annual Klipsch Pilgrimage in Hope, Arkansas.  Re-told here with permission.
