KlipschCorner is moving!

After four years, KlipschCorner.com is finally getting another face lift and moving to a dedicated server!

The site got to a point where various Silverlight upgrades, IE8, and other things introduced some insidious bugs and the site also just needs to be touched up.  I will be updating the look and feel, replacing all the "under the hood" code, and migrating to a new server.  All of the historical data will be migrated over as well - people who have signed in might have to use the password reset feature to log in to the new site as password migration might be tricky.

Check back on Friday.

Palladium Review in Stereophile

http://blog.stereophile.com/stephenmejias/now_on_newsstands_stereophile_vol32_no6/

I have a team of Ninjas out right now looking for a copy of this issue.  I can't wait to read it and see what Stereophile has to say about my babies.

New Budget HT System

The only downside I can think of to being a Klipsch fan is that they are not cheap speakers.  Obviously this is really a good thing - you get what you pay for.  The two downsides I constantly run into, though, are these:

  1. When I get the itch to upgrade it turns out to be a big expensive itch.
  2. When I try to turn my friends and associates on to some Klipsch Magic, the price of entry is often considerably more than they expected.

Arriving just in time for our current economic environment, Klipsch has unveiled a new line of budget HT speakers.  Check out the news over at AVGuide.

KlipschCorner Reviews

I've finally gotten around to setting up a review template, so my long time goal of publishing movie, game, music, and equipment reviews is finally here.  Check out our unique rating system:

- Only the most fantastic products earn the coveted NO BS award. While the reviewer's job is to find fault, only the most petty things are wrong with this item.
- A great effor with only minor flaws, an A effort. In Klipsch terms, hardly any BS present!
- A good, solid effort. Many will appreciate this product, but pay attention to what the reviewer said.
- A mediocre effort.
- Avoid.
- Entirely full of shit.

You can check out the reviews page here.  You can also read the first published review, for Dead Space.

Headphone shootout

CNET compares the Klipsch X5 headphone to the Shure SE310.

http://reviews.cnet.com/4370-11399_7-628-101.html?tag=mid_container;pf_left_nav

It seems the judges might actually be qualified to comment, even!

I would like to have seen what material they were using.  Were the judges listening to the same material?  Using the same player and/or headphone amp?  Tests like this don't have a lot of credibility with me unless the test methodology is made available.  Good press for Klipsch, nonetheless.

Palladium P-39F Review

While I am still working on my review of the P-39F, others are starting to show up out there.  Check out this very positive review from the Secrets of Home Theater and Hi Fi website:

August 9th Palladium Listening Party

Come here the P-39F in Lake Country

As the first US Customer to take delivery of the P-39F I found myself in the unique position of being able to offer something you can't get anywhere else right now: a chance to sit down and listen to the P-39F in my room.

This Saturday, June 9th, if you should find yourself with nothing to do in Southeast Wisconsin, leave a comment on this post here at KlipschCorner or this thread over on the Klipsch Forums to let me know you'd like to come.

In order to make this experience particularly rich and worth it to the attendees, I am inviting folks to bring additional amps, pre-amps, and of course their music.  There is still some space if you'd like to attend, otherwise check back here for the whole story on Sunday.
